How does it work?
AviClear is the only Health Canada and FDA-approved laser that treats mild to severe acne by targeting the source of the oily substance on your skin without the use of topical or oral acne medications. This is a unique laser technology because of the wavelength it uses, which selectively targets the oil glands (sebaceous glands) in the skin eliminating acne at the source without the need for prescription medications. The treatment is safe for all skin types and tones and can be used on adolescents and adults.
What to expect during treatment?
Laser treatments are performed by our certified medical estheticians. Before the treatment, the targeted area will be prepped by cleansing, lots of hydration and once the treatment begins a slight snapping sensation. AviClear includes AviCool, a blue technology that allows patients skin to stay at their normal temperature and remain comfortable for the duration of the process.
What about post-treatment care?
There is no downtime, no prescriptions, and no need for your old acne routine. After the AviClear treatment, you may experience mild redness and swelling from 1 hour up to 2 days. Acne flare-ups may occur but are temporary and should resolve with time. We recommend applying SPF 30+ sunblock daily throughout your treatment series.
How do you maintain results?
AviClear delivers lasting results in three 30 minute treatment sessions each spaced out at 4 week intervals. You should start seeing results around 3-4 weeks after your last acne treatment session. Results may continue to improve with time.
